Shopping Cart price rule: Hide attributes

Today, when I was working with a client store using Magento, I ran into an issue with creating shopping cart price rule. My client would like to create a coupon code which can be applied for a specific product based on product sku. I went to Promotions > Shopping Cart Price Rules and created a new one. When I tried to select product sku in Actions tab, well, I cannot find Sku in the drop down. There are only 2 attributes: attribute set and category.

Here is how it was looking:

And if that is also the issue you are having, I hope this fix also work for you (it worked for me).

In the Magento Admin Panel go to Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes. Select any attribute that you’d like to be able to sort by in the conditions list. On the edit-a-attribute page, under “Frontend Properties” set “Use for Promo Rule Conditions” to “Yes”. Save the attribute. Then go to System > Index Management and re-index.

Now – when you go back to creating your Shopping Cart Price Rule, you will see your attribute in the conditions list. Does it work now?
