  • Step 1: Choose among three pages: Product, Category or Shopping Cart to show related products
  • Step 2: Set Block Information (name, status, store view, customer groups, time to show, priority & position)
  • Step 3: Set conditions for Currently Viewed Products/ Shopping Cart
  • Step 4: Set conditions for Related products (conditions, number of display, order)

First, you can set principles in the Conditions part, including Category, Gender, Price, SKU, … After that, you can choose more detailed conditions in the Attribute section that contains a great deal of smaller product elements. The more particular those terms are, the more appropriate the related products displayed are.

In the Category Page, there are obviously a variety of products which would make the purchasers feel quite difficult to make a decision. Hence, as a store owner, you can take advantage of this confusion to drive customers to buy certain items that you want to boost sales. To be more concrete, you just need to display a group of related products under the name of “Best Sellers, Hot Items, Don’t miss these items, Featured Products, Daily Deal,…”

Creating a related products block in the Product Page is highly recommended because it would capture customers’ attention most. Besides the main products, the shop should provide the viewers several related items to help them easily make comparison and stimulate buying.
A useful tip is that if the store focuses on selling the main product in the product page, other related products will have mission to make the main product more stand out (same price but lower quality or higher price but same quality, …) and vice versa. Some ideas for block title on this page are: “Related Products, We highly recommend, You might also be interested in the following products, Who viewed this product also viewed, We found other products you might like, …”

Finally, showing related items in the Shopping Cart would also be an effective idea, which is especially useful to persuade the customers to buy more extra supplemental items. When the purchasers decided to checkout, which means that they had already made some comparisons and pretty satisfied with their chosen items so we can’t drive them to buy another one in the same category.
Luckily, it will not apply with the supplemental products; by showing these products, we wisely remind them what they “forget” to buy to combine with chosen items. (E.g.: mobile phone and earphone). In this part, you can set the block title as “Customers who bought this item also viewed” to attract customers.
